I never used Silence much in previous games, and I haven't run into any situations where I felt I absolutely needed it. Every time I've gone up against enemy spellcasters, I've used a combination of shock damage and poisons of paralysis. The functionality of the Silence spell (to prevent the casting of spells) is achievable through other means in Skyrim, such as shock damage, damage magicka, and drain magicka. While this is true, I disagree that it was neglected due to laziness. I am sorry to tell you but Silence spell which makes enemy spellcaster not able to cast any spells for given period of time was already in Oblivion and Morrowind. piotrmil wrote: I'm not planning on adding any more spells, especially if they aren't somehow vanilla-ish. It's okay though, I figured out how to edit the menu in 圎dit for my own game. Maybe "Psijic" and "College" aren't the best suggestions, but maybe something from in game, rather than a technical computer term might be more immersive. I was looking for something that had more "in game" flavor.
So seeing those words when you open the spell crafting dialog seems like it takes you out of the game world. The words "scripted" and "engine" are from our world, not the world of TES. Well, I guess I am looking at it from the point of view of a character, rather than a player. piotrmil wrote: Thank you for your kind words, though that naming convention seems rather odd. And the Psijics do visit the college and interact with the PC, so it is not too much of a stretch to think the PC might have picked up a trick or two from them and thus be able to craft "Psijic" versions of spells. I might suggest that you consider naming them something more lore friendly, like maybe "Psijic" instead of "Scripted" and "College" instead of "Engine." You could keep the descriptions of the differences the same so people know what the differences actually are, but having more lore friendly names might make the mod more immersive.
